The Hanging Man

Collection Statement

The Hanging Man explores the distance between who we imagine ourselves to be and who we become. Beginning with the figure of The Little Prince—a symbol of childhood ideals, innocence, and possibility—the series follows the transformations that occur as life reshapes ambition through experience, compromise, loss, and resilience. Rather than depicting a single character, each figure represents a stage in the ongoing negotiation between expectation and reality. The series remains open-ended, growing alongside the questions that first gave rise to it.

Beginning

The series began with The Little Prince, a reflection on the dreams and certainties we carry as children. As conversations around the work evolved, so did the realization that those early aspirations rarely disappear; they adapt, fracture, or find unexpected forms. Each subsequent figure emerged as another possible path, another version of what we might become while carrying traces of who we once were.
