View Exhibition →Sanctuary is a quiet interruption.
A wounded man rests against a woman who neither rescues nor restrains him. She offers no solution, no judgment, only presence. Their embrace exists outside the language of victory and defeat.
The work considers the rare moments when strength gives way to trust. In a world that often rewards endurance above all else, Sanctuary asks whether vulnerability might require its own kind of courage.
The figures remain deliberately open to interpretation. They could be lovers, strangers, old friends, or simply two people sharing the burden of being human. The painting offers no narrative conclusion, only the possibility that refuge itself can be an act of grace.
