Danger is Lurking
Danger is Lurking
This painting captures the surreal, intense emotions of a recurring dream that blurs the lines between fear, fate, and survival. The scene begins with a small plane crash, a catastrophic event that pulls me in, searching for survivors—only to realize I am both the rescuer and the one falling from the sky.
As I rush barefoot towards the wreckage, the grim reality unfolds: a drug lord stands among the chaos, firing shots and taking lives with a twisted sense of amusement. I attempt to escape but pretend to be dead, holding my breath as he watches, taunts, and waits for me to break. Just as he readies to end my life, I awaken, gasping for air, pulled back into reality by the terror of the dream.
The owl, a creature that visits me often at my house and office, watches over the scene with knowing eyes, representing an ever-present guide between worlds. The bison, strong yet vulnerable, symbolizes the weight of impending danger and the strength to face it. And then there's the hand—a mystical, divine presence reaching out to remind me that there’s always a force greater than the fear, a reminder that even in my darkest moments, something or someone is there to pull me back.
"Danger is Lurking" is more than just a representation of a nightmare; it’s an exploration of vulnerability, survival, and the unseen forces that protect us when danger feels all-consuming. It’s a journey through the subconscious, where fear meets faith, and where even in moments of impending doom, there’s a thread of hope keeping us grounded.
