When I painted The Party Has Just Begun, I wasn't thinking about a specific celebration. I was thinking about those rare moments when a room becomes more than a gathering. Conversations begin to overlap, strangers become familiar, ideas are exchanged, and by the end of the evening, everyone leaves carrying something they didn't arrive with.

Ironically, that's exactly how this painting found its collector.

It wasn't chosen in a quiet studio or during a formal viewing. It remained on the wall while a celebration unfolded around it, surrounded by laughter, whiskey, cigars, and conversations that stretched late into the evening. By the time the night ended, the painting had become part of the story it was originally trying to tell.

Sometimes art doesn't simply depict an experience.

Sometimes it waits until life catches up with it.
