Clad in sculpted confidence and lacquered charm, she assumes her position with ease—poised, technicolor, and unblinking. “Glamour as Armor” captures a figure who has traded softness for spectacle, intimacy for strategy. She peers through the scope, not seeking connection, but correction.

Here, power is not taken—it is performed. The weapon may be real, but the threat lies elsewhere: in the curated sense of righteousness, the rehearsed certainty of selfhood. Like a costume worn too often, empowerment begins to itch, sag, and crack under its own repetition. And yet, she poses—ready to shoot, if only to prove she could.

Original work by Papayon — Latin American contemporary artist based in Houston, TX. Oil mixed media on canvas, 54x48in. Certificate of authenticity included. Ships worldwide.

About This Work

Studio Record

Everyday is Monday remained in the studio for years, returning to the easel at different moments rather than being completed in a single stretch of work.

The painting absorbed interruptions, revisions, and changing perspectives, becoming a record of time as much as image.

Rather than forcing an ending, the work waited until its own resolution became clear.

Encounters

Conversations around the work often turn toward unfinished projects, delayed decisions, and the unexpected value of returning to something left behind.

Many viewers see the painting less as a single moment and more as a reflection on persistence and the quiet accumulation of time.

Artist's Note

Some works arrive quickly.

Others stay.

Everyday is Monday remained with me for years, returning to the studio at different moments and under different circumstances. At first, I thought the interruptions kept the painting from being finished. Eventually, I understood they were part of the work itself.

The title came naturally. Monday is the day we return—to our responsibilities, unfinished conversations, and the things we have postponed.

This painting became my own Monday, waiting patiently until it was ready to leave the studio.
