View Exhibition →The Hanging Man VI: The Firefighter honors those whose profession is defined by entering danger while everyone else is trying to escape it. Rather than portraying action or heroism, the figure hangs in stillness, transforming the firefighter's uniform into a symbol of duty, sacrifice, and quiet resilience.
Part of The Hanging Man series, the work explores the identities people carry through their professions—the invisible weight of responsibility, expectation, and service that often extends beyond the workplace.
This artwork was exhibited at MUSAS (Museo de Arte de Sonora) as part of the series, reinforcing its place within Papayon's ongoing investigation into labor, identity, and the human condition.
