View Exhibition →Quiet Hours presents a familiar landscape suspended between calm and unease. Mounted figures, contemporary infrastructure, and subtle signs of observation occupy the same space without conflict, yet their coexistence suggests an invisible tension beneath the surface.
Part of Papayon's evolving series Civil Frictions, the work explores the quiet negotiations between individual lives and the systems that shape them. Rather than illustrating a specific event or political position, the painting transforms an ordinary moment into an open question about presence, authority, and the rituals of contemporary life.
The silence within the scene is intentional. What appears peaceful at first glance gradually reveals itself as a place where the viewer must decide whether they are witnessing security, routine, or something altogether different.
Original work by Papayon — Latin American contemporary artist based in Houston, TX. Oil on canvas board, 48 x 54in. Certificate of authenticity included. Ships worldwide.
