A solitary charro sits on horseback, his face partly concealed beneath the broad brim of his hat. Light defines his presence while shadow keeps his expression unresolved. The horse’s stillness gives the encounter a quiet, grounded weight.

In Half in Shadow, Papayon explores the distance between being seen and being known. The familiar figure of the rider becomes a study of restraint: posture and silhouette establish a presence, while the person behind them remains private.
