View Exhibition →In this large-scale work, Papayon explores movement as a state of psychological and physical tension. The rider and horse advance across an open field rendered through layered gestural marks and sweeping horizontal passages of color. Rather than depicting a fixed narrative, the composition focuses on momentum itself — on the unstable negotiation between instinct, direction, and control. The visible construction of the surface, including traces of process and structural elements, reinforces the immediacy of the act of painting. The work situates the viewer inside the forward drive of the scene, where energy becomes both subject and environment.
