Suspended

There are moments in life when nothing has happened yet, and everything already has.

A rider falls through an expanse of red that offers no horizon, no destination, and no certainty. Below, the horse remains suspended just above the surface—not standing, not collapsing, but caught in the same impossible pause. Neither figure struggles. Neither has reached the ground.

Part of Papayon's Falling series, Suspended explores the space between control and consequence. It is not about impact or recovery, but about the quiet interval where certainty disappears and the future has yet to declare itself.

Rather than asking how we survive the fall, the painting asks a different question: Who are we while we are still suspended?
